By bus and Minibus via Boa Vista, Bonfim and Lethem to Georgetown, Guyana.
Getting there was hard work, First the coldest bus i ever had, from Manaus to Boa Vista by Asatur overnight bus. All the other passengers came with blancets and woolen pullovers, had never had a bus (but a train in Malaysia) with airconditioning so overdone. Then a bus to the Bonfim brazilean borderpost and to the guyanan borderpost, changed my money for a good rate and waited until the afternoon until my minibus to Georgetown, Guyana finally left.
On the way there where 4 police checkes, after the first the minibus stopped for 5 hours in a place where one could take a hammock to sleep or stay in the rather cramped minibus. The minibus contiued at 4 in the morning to get at 6 am to a ferry which didn't run in the night.
At the last police check i was asked for a präsent, which i refused, fortunately no negative reaction.
Arrived after 22 hours finally in Georgetown, Guyana.
